Show #663 Original Air Date: December 27, 2018 Elizabeth B. Rex, M.A., Ph.D., M.B.A. The Children First Foundation Topic: While In Vitro Fertilization and Surrogacy are condemned by the Roman Catholic Church, what about 'Embryo Transfer' and 'Embryo Adoption'? Dr. Rex, a bio-ethics professor, believes after studying not only the Catechism of the Church and several encyclicals such as Donum Vitae, that embryo transfer and embryo adoption are licit and moral. She argues they are a corporeal work of mercy. As regular adoptive mother of two children herself, she believes embryo adoption is the loving choice. While she thinks cryopreservation is an illegal act and should not be done, what can America do with upwards of a million frozen embryos? The Catholic church is still wrestling with the issue of 'embryo transfer and embryo adoption'.
